In reply to the discussion: Suspect that Wray found something in memo [View all]dawg day
(7,947 posts)"Fire him or we go after you next. What do we have on you? Nothing. That doesn't mean we won't make shit up and give it to Hannity to scream about for a month. And remember, the big turd in the White House? Sure, he appointed you, but you and your whole agency are his enemy now.... You want your reputation intact? Fire McCabe and let everyone else there know-- we got your balls. We're ruthless and we don't care about truth and we sure don't care about justice."
Well, that's maybe too articulate for Nunes.
But let's not pretend there's much need for Nunes/Trump to have anything real. Trump has minions who will slavishly avow every day over and over that the FBI is riddled with liberal commies.
We've seen it before. There's a name for it= McCarthyism.
And Wray's no Eliot Richardson (the one who refused to fire Cox). He's not even Jim Comey. He caved. And heck, maybe he can tell himself he did it to spare McCabe. That might even be true.
It doesn't follow, however, that there's anything in the memos that is 1) true, and 2) indicting of McCabe.
Nunes just wants us to think so, but remember, he was the one who wanted us to think he cloak-and-daggered intel to the White House that they actually gave to him.
