And many of them have relatives that have been deported. Unofficially, anecdotally, it seems to be mostly fathers caught at their jobs.
There is an underlying sense of trepidation, but these kids are more resilient than most. I dont think most people realize how difficult immigrating as a child can be. Ive been toying with the seed of a doctoral dissertation on the subject for a couple of years now, but then I got all caught up in reading/comparing post-Colonial, post-French education systems and mentally wandered off. Weird hobbies.
The tutoring idea is great, isnt it? Of course, Im the one thats going to be responsible for it. For free. LOL. Thats what I signed up for.
