125. So you're saying a Democratic mayor shouldn't hold Democratic values?

Please. He was elected because he was a Democrat. He was elected to uphold "silly little unimportant things" like equal rights, equal access, non-discrimination policies, etc. He has very good legal advisors and I'm quite sure every word, every phrase and every paragraph of that letter got the scrutiny of a lawyer on staff.

He didn't open himself up to any "problems" so stuff that "Oh, NO! Don't Say Anything In Case The Bigots Get Mad!" concern where the sun don't shine. He expressed an opinion that is entirely consonant with the law of the land and the laws of the State of Massachusetts. He didn't "prohibit" a damn thing. And since when might "boycotts" bring lawsuits? That's as likely as the stork bringing babies. Why didn't anyone sue Martin Luther King, if that sort of thing followed?

And if it's "only going to get worse," well good. We'll "smoke 'em outta their holes" as Dumbya would say. Make people throw down against equality and tolerance--and live, down the road, to regret it. Appeasement on this matter is NOT a strategy, unless you're talking about a recipe for retreat.
