I am a long time gun owner, firearms safety instructor and canceled carry/self defense instructor.

Probably 65% of my students are Democrats, because I make it a point to reach out to those communities who may not be comfortable with a white male instructor who are the majority.

My last class was all LGBT students who wanted to go through the CCW process and learn to be able to defend themselves in an increasingly hostile environment.

The class before that was all African American, getting CCWs for similar reasons.

So not only does your attitude alienate a lot of your typical white gun owner votes we need, it’s an attack on an increasingly large portion of the traditional democratic base.

Blaming all gun owners for the actions of one is as stupid as when the right wing blames all Muslims for a terrorist attack.
