In a town of one million native born and one million nun immigrants a newly born child has one chance in 10,000 of dying by murder. In a town of only one million native born a newly born child has one chance in 5001 of dying by murder. In the town with nuns there will be someone murdered by a nun. But that does not mean nuns should be banned from moving here.

I know it is a hard argument to make when we see a nun with a smoking gun standing over a dead college student but it is a sound argument. We will see a dead student only half as often in nun town, on a per capita basis.
