Republicans don't "win" because they care. They "win" because the manipulate the system to retain power, and having no interest in anything but power itself since they lack principles, they live and work only for power. Their interest in power is chiefly concerned with the acquisition and concentration of money for themselves.
For Moore to suggest that a "fight for something they believe in" is involved is to expose his own ignorance of the fact that the Republicans of today clearly believe in nothing..
He's a clueless little mind, that Moore. (He might consider changing his first name to "Roy;" because the intellectual levels of Roy and Michael seem pretty damned close from where I sit.)
Republicans win because they appeal to ignorance and racism which highly motivates the holders of ignorance and racism to vote in districts gerrymandered to give those who accept ignorance and racism power to exercise inappropriate weight.
On the other hand, ersatz "liberals" like Moore, appeal to ridicule and hopelessness - albeit with a healthy dash of stupidity - and self congratulation of their own nobility.
I have no use for Moore and haven't since 2000. He is an intellectual Lilliputian, comfortable among intellectual Lilliputians who comment on other intellectual Lilliputians.
He is, and always will be, a cynical useless excuse for a human being.
