First a one week delay. Now another. In Politics, this is the equivalent of letting grass grow over ground you'd rather not have exposed.
Yes, his next nominee will be just as bad, but this would show that we are not going to take every national indignity lying down--INCLUDING his next nominee. They wouldn't even give our last one the courtesy of acknowledging his very existence. Thy are due for some quid pro quo.
At any rate, Kavanaugh was not a shoe-in, slipper-in, boot-in or sock-in (I'm betting you meant shoo-in), and that alone will make the Republicans think about how horrible their next nominees can be before there is serious blowback.

A "no" answer depends upon Collins and Murkowski doing the right thing. Not very likely IMO.
