I agree with your first bullet - "Expensive antibiotics, medicines, doctor visits, hospital visits" but hope you aren't recommending substituting "herbal treatments" and "natural cures" for a decent medical exam.

While the medical/pharmaceutical industry is gouging US, the pseudo medical types are doing the same with no evidence that their solutions work. Anecdotal and advertisement-based treatment is a sham. Do some clinical trials, double-blind experiments, peer-reviewed results before making your patients your guinea pigs and your cash cows.

I've worked with "integrative" and "complementary-alternative" medicines. The difference between the scientific methods of self-proclaimed healers and certified healthcare professionals is huge, and not complimentary to the complementary ones.
