(2,151 posts)43. Get the shingles shot!!!!
I had shingles several years ago. Was misdiagnosed when I went to urgent care, so was in horrible pain for 2 more days until I got the correct meds. I have a high pain tolerance but I can verify it is HORRIBLE!! Had it on my forehead and down around my eye and nose. Luckily I seemed to have a mild case as no lasting effects and once on the right rx it only lasted about a week. But those first few days were enough to make me recommend to everyone--GET THE SHOT!
My dr at the time said I could get the vax 5 yrs after having the attack, so I did. Now am going to look into the new one too.

I'm afraid even well-to-do people can fall for the herbal treatment, homeopathic medicine cult.
