(59,782 posts)What does Bernie Sanders have to do with the Democratic Party nominee in 2020?
He does caucus with us in the Senate, and I'm glad he does. I have no interest in wasting time tearing him down, though what he has to do with the designation "our allies" is far from clear. I am well aware that there are two or three posters on this site who show up for the sole purpose of claiming to clarify just that. Like the saying goes, "I don't mind Jesus, it's his fan club I can't stand."
Anyone who comes out with a statement like, I think you know there are a lot of white folks out there who are not necessarily racist who felt uncomfortable for the first time in their lives about whether or not they wanted to vote for an African-American is no ally of mine. I am also quite aware that some will disagree with that sentiment. Chaqu'un á son goût.
I think that after 13 years, I don't need people other than the site owners to tell me when to clear out of here and when I don't have to.
There is a fine line between "bashing" potential Democratic nominees and stating preferences one way or the other. I am certainly not volunteering for the post of Lord High Executioner of DU members. I would be very wary of anyone else eager to claim the post.
