says, Bernie Sanders is the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination until someone knocks him off in the primaries, if he decides to run, and if someone can actually do that. He has the name recognition, he has the platform, he has the organization, he can get the money, and he has an amazing ability to excite new voters, especially younger ones. African-Americans know who he is now and like him, and most won't make much of that little gaffe so many on DU focused on the other day.

Personally, I think Bernie would beat defeat Trump in 2020, for I cannot see Trump defeating him in any of the states Hillary carried in 2016 or in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa. I cannot say that about many of the other potential candidates so favored here on DU. Still, difficult to see is the future, and if I can't see it, then I am arrogant enough to say that no one else can, either.

What is definitely true is that Donald Trump is an out-and-out Fascist, or, to quote an Klingon, "a swaggering, overbearing, tin-plated dictator with delusions of godhood." He must be defeated. He must be stopped, or our republic is doomed. I support Bernie Sanders for many reasons, but that is the most important one.
