Same as the tree lighting. Neither of those were stressful situations. This is not caused by the immediate situation. This is him knowing he's going down.

And in combination with him knowing he's going down, he was treated as an infantile pariah at the summit. Which is the appropriate way to treat him. It is just possible that he is being smacked in the face for the first time in his life with what he really is, and with how others really see him.

I shouldn't find it delicious, but I do.
