But that's what you get with a competitive process. Especially in a country this big. There's very much an "early bird gets the worm" dynamic to such a coveted prize. I'm certainly not settling on anyone yet. But that just about guarantees I won't be part of any convention or campaign process.

People will be getting in on the ground floor now and through the rest of 2019 for their candidates. If you ain't saddled up by Thanksgiving, you won't be riding with any one's posse. You'll just be a spectator, cheering from the sidelines. That's how politics works
