35. Let's just say that this mother is on welfare, which we have no way of knowing,

one way or the other in the scenario I described in the OP. Why would you jump to the conclusion that first came the welfare and then the kids (all but one I assume). People with lots of kids can fall on hard times just like anyone else.

That's even more the case when it comes to food stamps, which is the issue we're discussing here. Who knows what this woman's situation is. maybe she lost her job, or, oh yeah...maybe she's employed at WalMart. They encourage their workers to apply for food stamps because they pay them sh*t wages.
