8. Many Russians see the USA as the cause of many of the world's great ills.

While the whole history is terribly complicated, most of it over my head, I have every reason to believe they would be right.

All Russians I know, which is not many, are highly educated, often artistic types with a pretty informed world view.
Of course, they have their own blind spots from their perspective, as we do from ours.
My occasional conversations with them are always quite informative, to say the least.
