(18,402 posts)Browns Midwest bona fides could extend to other Midwestern (post-) industrial states such as Michigan and Wisconsin, and beyondand thats where we lost last time.
Im not assuming that anti-Trump sentiment and its counter-policy correlates will be enough to overcome the bizarre electoral barriers that exist. We cant just win the popular vote (alas). And I worry somewhat about a coastal elites factor.
On the other hand, will Brown be able to reawaken the minority vote that lagged somewhat in the last election?
As far as I see it, youve either got to get the working class vote or a mega-minority vote to win this thing. Preferably both. That means that right now, there are three candidates Im looking at closely. Brown is definitely one of those.
Fearing loss of his Senate seat in Ohio is not a compelling reason to discount him.
