In reply to the discussion: So, about that low-keyed, quiet guy who could nail down the presidency [View all]babylonsister
(172,815 posts)84. Oh yea, smearing for all they're worth.
From the article:
Larke Recchie, the ex-wife of Sen. Sherrod Brown, said she is dismayed supporters of Browns re-election opponent Jim Renacci resurrected a three-decade old accusation Thursday that Brown engaged in domestic violence against her, calling the use of her divorce records for a political campaign shameless and disgusting.
Just hours after the Daily Caller in Washington reported a video was airing accusing Brown of abusing his former wife in the 1980s, Renacci, a Republican congressman from Wadsworth, told The Columbus Dispatch: Sherrod Browns well-documented history of domestic violence is deeply troubling. Ohioans deserve to know all the facts, and judge his fitness for public office for themselves.
But in a statement issued by Browns office, Larke Recchie said this isnt the first time someone has gone after my family to score cheap political points. Im dismayed that Congressman Renacci would do something this shameless, despite the fact that Ive already addressed this matter.

Ohio is NOT a resign to run state. Sen Brown is not legally required to give up his seat.
