The RW is like the Soviet Union breaking up [View all]

Added on Edit: This is an analogy. The OP does not say anywhere that the US is breaking up. The crisis within the Republican Party is the topic.

When the Soviet Union was breaking up the risk of nuclear war over a fifty year time frame was decreasing while the risk of nuclear war in a one-year time frame was escalating. Could we make it through the breakup without some hard-line true believers deciding to go down with the ship?

That is what US demographics feel like to me. The Right Wing cannot survive long-term unless we reintroduce limiting the franchise to property owners. Creating a democracy full of hopeless peasants is not a stable dynamic.

But rather than seeking to remain relevant to the flow of history, the RW is spinning into increasingly impractical and delusional extremes.

All RW cults are ultimately suicide cults—neither Nazism not the American Confederacy was going to win in the long run, and many of them knew that going in.

My way or the blaze of glory highway.
