if we've been here awhile. My father's family are Germans who came over mid-1800s ... I don't know a lot about the line but I've been told they were Prussian. My mom's family on the other hand - through her mom - are the Halsteads. I am related to Bill Gates - he is my generation (and my age) but the common ancestor is about 13 generations ago. I can't imagine we'd have much to talk about - ha - I'd tell him he'd ought to be paying more taxes and he'd laugh.

You should have your kids write to Barbara - she might respond. She and George have to be in their 80s now and might find it endearing. I wouldn't bother with W ...
