If you wait until next year it starts to look like a clear case a political pandering at worst panic. Announcing your interest of starting inquiries doesn’t mean you start them today you could take months to schedule hearings . I agree with you that we need maximum political impact but We run the risk of reversal. I can hear the Republicans now “if this is such an emergency why did it take so long to start inquiries this is just a cheap little trick“ not that they won’t say it now but....
