Lots of leftists were initially taken in by Hugo Chavez as well. Many of them were here on this board. This site used to have a whole cadre of Chavez defenders. They're pretty much silent now since he left Venezuela in ruins. It's called being wrong. It happens to everybody sometimes. It doesn't mean that you are wrong on everything or always working to get Republicans elected.
