10. If people had wanted you

to be quieter and more patient then the progress should be happening without much effort or force, with a sincere promise to give you all the rights and privileges that the rest of us have and that you deserve and be a continual push to see that it is being moved forward. It is simply the right thing to do. That is the bottom line, it is the right thing to do morally and constitutionally.

Even a continual national dialog that does not pander to bigots would be helpful. Going at this with education is great but it is slow and some can't be reached at all. Equality should be one of the top priorities of a Democratic administration, ANY administration. Yes there are lots of other things of great importance but by not making equality important you stay where you are or things get worse, a Federal ban on marriage equality, women are getting hit hard, undocumented workers are still facing horrors and we continue to live with fear rather than strength. We are so not United.

If people want LGBT to shut up about this, this thing that is your right and that you have never had, then they should be working to make it happen. That is the only response you should see on a board like this one. "What can we do best to help you?"
