(5,240 posts)I can see where changing minds can be very difficult. I do think most of us have little idea about farming. I remember talking to a woman years ago who was going on her first vacation, she was in her 60s and had a dairy farm. She had never been out of Iowa. She and her husband had finally found someone to take over the farm. People who work that hard and hear endlessly on talk radio about how "other people" aren't working and are getting "free stuff" can get to be resentful. I think a lot of problems come from not understanding how other people live.
I am glad to hear that the farmers in ND are beginning to see that 45 does not care about their lives. I only hope that they can see that being apart of a successful society involves accepting that there are a lot of ways to live a life, and we need those different ways to thrive.
