Of course Ginsburg is hiring. She isn't leaving the seat with the current president and senate unless she passes away. It's silly to see the hiring as a sign of what she's "showing" when she has explicitly spoken about her intentions.
Conversely, we all knew that Kennedy was retiring if he got a Republican president and senate. The only question was which year he would decide to do it. There was zero chance that he was going to try to wait for a Democrat to replace him.
If you want more evidence... here's a piece from Kennedy's retirement
Note that there is a "court tradition" for how to handle orphaned law clerks are handled? There wouldn't be one if the norm were to not hire clerks.

The orphaned Kennedy clerks. Inquiring minds want to know: whats happening to the four clerks that Justice Kennedy hired for OT 2018? In a story about them a few weeks ago, Tony Mauro predicted that if court tradition holds, the four wont be jobless for long and that prediction has come to pass.

OP
Then there's this video of Trump making a comment that stops Kennedy in his tracks.

But if Traitor Tot is impeached, he'll go down in history that way. He'd hate that; ergo, me likey!

Even if impeachment fails to convict, at least it will show the complicity of the GOP Senate.

You don't pick your clerks for the next term if you are planning on retiring....
