I am right in the path of the eye as of the 11am update!! I was going to hunker down but I am responsible for 4 fur babies so I am heading into work with them on Sunday. Thankfully I work a veterinary hospital that is new and rated for a CAT 5 hurricane and we have a generator. Me and the owners and couple of other employees will take care of the close to 100 boarders that going to be there for the storm. We will make sure they get their meds and food and are walked and cleaned up after. We will even lay with them and hold them if they are scared. I guess that is why I got into this career 15 years ago- to take care of those that can't take care of themselves. We are hoping for the best for our close knit community. Anyone in Florida preparing for this take care and be safe. This is a bitch of a storm and not knowing where it heading yet is just stressful -just be prepared. Homes and items in them can be replaced- you and your pets can not!!
I'll post pictures as it progresses and its safe enough!!
