These lithe young women showing up have every reason to be proud of their bodies. But so too do the grandparents of the less "beautiful" and far more self-conscious young girls have a right to try to ensure them a space where they can enjoy themselves and not be the "butt" of ridicule from their peers or other unkind people. Of course one would expect the young women to be able to wear anything they please at a public beach or similar settings. One would expect that and short of any nudity restrictions, I'd absolutely argue they should be left alone to wear what they wish. But here they are guests at this community and yes, I think the elderly residents have a right to interject their values and concerns if they so please.
So, yes. THAT is basic consideration. You instead want to judge these grandparents based on your presumptions and enforce them to conform to YOUR opinions, no matter the validity of their own concerns.
Tolerance goes in both directions.
