I really do think it's just the opposite. Trump is becoming more unstable and is clearly outlining himself as a national security threat. It becomes more and more clear to the public each day. I think the tide is still rising when it comes to the possibility of getting some Republicans on board.

"If you think about self preservation, they might have been able to overcome a vote against trump a year ago. And a viable replacement who they could prop up and rally around became apparent. Let's just say somehow trump got removed soon. There wouldn't be enough time to find a new 2020 candidate and for the public to forget a yes vote."

This means that over the next couple of months they would want to go into 2020 with Trump. With what is going on it could truly set them back even further in every area. I know that many of them want to go forward with Trump but I don't think it's even close to all of them.
