As a (somewhat) side note, if you've not listened to the "Slow Burn" podcast Season 1 discussion of Watergate, it's worth the time. I was just a kid of 8 when it all went down, and remember the gravity of the situation reflected in my parents' discussions, but had no real understanding of what was actually happening. One thing I learned while listening to the podcast that really struck me was how ambivalent everyone seemed to be about Watergate while momentum was building, and how no one was really paying that much attention until EVERYONE was paying attention.

Now the cold, hard light of the operating room has been switched on, and Speaker Pelosi and her fellow Representatives will be sharpening their lancets hopefully to cut out the rot that has infested our country for far too long.
