"The president said helicopters transporting the special forces took off from an undisclosed location after 17:00 in Washington DC (21:00 GMT) on Saturday, when he and other leaders gathered at the White House Situation Room.

The helicopters had to fly for approximately one hour and 10 minutes in both directions, while the operation on the ground took about two hours, he added."

Flight takes off at 5 pm EST. 1 hour and 10 minute flight time.

Special forces spend about 2 hours on the ground

Return flight takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Trump tweeted "Something very big has just happened!" at 9:23 EST.

It does add up

"This isn't true. First on-the-ground posts about a helicopter raid in Idlib started surfacing shortly after 5PM EST, 11PM in Syria. Yes, the photo looks staged as hell, but this timing controversy is based on a false premise.”

"

BREAKING - reports of a (US?) helicopter-borne raid on a convoy of Huras al-Din (#AlQaeda in #Syria) leaders traveling near Barisha in #Idlib.

Locals say as many as 6 choppers involved - gave chase to convoy, 2 landed & assaulted vehicles. Possibly took bodies or evidence away.
4:54 PM - 26 Oct 2019 "

Edit: Looking at the above, it appears special forces left their airfield around 3:30 pm EST and they arrived at the target location around 5 pm EST.
