The right wing could have used the tactics used against the Clinton Foundation - where they used a "scholarly" book that intentionally misunderstood various contributions and actions and put everything in the worst possible light. They actually DID put out that book ... and apparently it must not have been seen as enough. They also went further lying about JOE Biden's actions with regards to corruption in Ukraine.

These actions are in line with what the right wing has done for decades.

Where this went differently is having the President threaten (implicitly) the President of an ally to get him to agree there were reasons to investigate Hunter Biden and the ridiculous conspiracy theory that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in 2016 to help HRC - not him. (I still have heard NO ONE suggest how putting out cherry picked DNC and Podesta emails could possibly be something that HRC wanted done.)

With all this in full view, it is true more people have heard that Hunter Biden had a very profitable job on a board in Ukraine than before. However, they have also heard more clearly that he did nothing illegal. Furthermore, Joe Biden's actions in response which kept to US policy were given FAR more coverage than before. (Joe clearly had trouble speaking about the situation because it involved his son.) This was always going to be a liability, but JB is not the first leader to have relatives that were problems.

Most importantly, it is TRUMP who has been under the magnifying glass - and the sght is not pretty. Consider that even his Republicans are not repeating that is his call is perfect. Members of his team are at each others throats.

So, I think the net impact is that more people know that Hunter Biden is troubled, but more people than that are seeing how totally dysfunctional the President is
