81. Easy enough mistake to make since they have

the same last name and both became known in politics.

BTW, I'm the same age. I keep the McCarthy guys apart because I have a very vague memory of my mother cussing out Joe McCarthy while she was dusting in the living room with the tv on. I was too young to know who he was or what it was about but made the connection when I was older.

A friend of mine was a supporter of Eugene McCarthy in thr 1968 primaries. Even though we were not voting age yet since it was still 21 then, my friend did phone calls, knocked on doors, and stuffed envelopes.

There is also news video of the McCarthy supporters on primary election night in CA getting word of Bobby's assassination
