They twisted them into a pretzel trying to prove Obama wasn't a Christian. But with clear evidence Trump's only religion is himself, they twist themselves into a pretzel trying to profess he is a Christian.
I liken it to the "beggar paradox". Republican helps out at the food bank that gives out to beggars and illegal immigrants. After he's done, he goes to the store and a beggar asks for food, which he then screams at him to get a job. Then goes home and turns on Fox News and starts raging against the immigrants taking away jobs.
