He is a symptom but he is also a major lightning rod for right-wing hatred. He continues to stir up the hatred on a daily basis and never lets them cool off. He is their Messiah and they follow his wishes and hate who he wants them to hate.

It's true that there are many horrible, hateful politicians and right-wing individuals out there, but Donald Trump has been the catalyst who has brought them to be such a malignant force in society.
