Congressional Candidate Omar Navarro Arrested For Violating Restraining Order
Navarro arrested day after LAGOP officially endorsed another Republican

Republican congressional candidate Omar Navarro, who is running against incumbent Democrat Maxine Waters, was arrested and booked Saturday in San Francisco. According to the San Francisco Sheriff Department website, Navarro was arrested for stalking, making criminal threats, violating a domestic relations court order, and attempted extortion. The charges range from a misdemeanor to felonies. He was released on bail Sunday morning for $75,000.
Navarro, who was a GOP activist in the South Bay, tried to unseat incumbent Rep. Maxine Waters, in 2018. In September 2016, the then 28-year old pled guilty and was convicted of a misdemeanor for placing an electronic device onto his wifes car. The sentence was one day in jail and 18 months probation. In addition Omar was ordered to take anger management courses according to the Orange County District Attorneys Office.
In 2014, Navarro ran for Torrance City Council and only received .95 percent of the votes.
