72. To be fair, I think it's still too early to know how this is going to play out

I realize managing perceptions is a thing, but the sad fact is Republicans have been much better managing those perceptions then Democrats. In fact, I would argue that Pelosi appeared to be forced to go to the impeachment trial because there was heat put on her from the media.

Trump is already crowing to the media that he is now okay with Pompeo and Rick Perry testifying making it look like he is now okay with witnesses, knowing the Senate Republicans won't allow it.

The media report I heard this on (radio, not Fox news) did not call him a liar or even hint that Trump changed his stance now that Moscow Mitch is protecting him.

Like I said last week, I was worried that the reports about a few Senators defecting from Moscow Mitch on the issue of witnesses was only McConnell teeing up the football so that he could pull it away at the last second.
