WTF is wrong with our young people??

261. Nothing is wrong with them, their motivation may be different, that doesn't make them wrong

As the parent of two millennials who has worked with young people for the past 40 years, my sense is their motivations are different.

Instead of being motivated to vote out of fear of “how their lives are going to change for the worse”, the millennials I know seem to be motivated to vote FOR someone who will tangibly make their lives better. If they don’t see an option that will make things better, many consider abstention/staying home a viable option, rather than participate in a system they see as broken and corrupt.

I don’t agree with that reasoning, but that’s my observation.

That’s why I strongly believe any nominee who promotes policies that will better the lives of everyone, including young people (and not just a return to Status Quo Normalcy) and inspires young people to turn out and vote in significant numbers will guarantee victory in November.
