Did anyone expect the Senate to kick him out? [View all]

It's a shocker to most it even got as far as the House, let alone the Senate.
The goal was never to get him kicked to the curb. Wasn't going to happen. We knew that.

For the Democratic Party this was not about politics. It was about the rule of law and the failure of a specific individual to uphold it. It was about a crime - a string of crimes. It was always about upholding the law.

We can disagree on what America's priorities should be. We can disagree on the path to get there. But this country was founded upon the rule of law. It is the basis of all that American ever stood for - good or bad.

Republicans made this about politics. So now it is about politics. It is up to every Democratic Party candidate and organization to keep the facts in front of the American people all the way up until November - and beyond. The Republican Party does not respect the rule of law (and hasn't for a long time now). It is important for Americans to understand that.
