4. Caring about the future...

In my experience, I think it's the younger generation that cares more about climate change than us older folks. Don't get me wrong. I have always cared about the environment since that very first Earth Day. However, a lot of older folks aren't as focused on climate change as the younger generations are. My last ten years of employment were at universities and another institution of higher education. At each of them I had students who worked for me. I was pleasantly surprised that most of them would talk about environmental issues, and they felt very strongly about it. Some of them were going into fields related to environmentalism. Two of them were even self-identified as republicans, though this was prior to Trump.

My point is that I think if we can get the younger people out in massive numbers, we will have no problem winning everything. We need to court their votes. They're busy people and we have to try to make it as easy as possible for them to register and to convince them that it's their futures that will be impacted.
