7. Adam Smith knew some things that the modern plutocrat will never know

Smith used the phrase "invisible hand" but one instance in the Wealth of Nations. As you said, he discussed the importance of proper government regulation of enterprises. He also provided some moral insight into capitalism that is usually absent when people speak of business. Smith was not antagonistic to labor and actually spoke out against the working conditions that some were forced into with the extreme division of labor.

To get to the larger point of the original poster, I think that market capitalism has failed to respond appropriately to the looming climate crisis. Where are their solutions to the problem?
