23. Have you ever been around someone in need of an organ?

I have dozens of friends who have had transplants - and a handful who have died waiting. It is not pretty. (My daughter has a rare liver disease that will ultimately require a transplant - perhaps more than one. The friends are others with the same rare disease.)

There are not enough cadaver organs around to save all those who need a transplant - so people resort to lots of unorthodox means to find someone who is willing to be a live donor, becase the alternative is death.
