to find a new one, just in case. I, along with 1,600 of her other patients, are being dropped by her practice unless we agree to join MDVIP, which is a doctor-prescribed service that manages her practice.

In order to join, there is a $2,000 annual fee per patient in order to remain one of the precious 400 that she will keep in her practice. That fee, of course, is out-of-pocket as it's not covered by insurance. Basically, we'd be subsidizing her so that she could drastically reduce her practice size without suffering any loss of income. I'm taking a hard pass on this deal, despite the fact that I was one of her first patients when she took over this practice about 10 years ago.

Apparently this is the new, coming "thing" for doctors. Frankly, I think it sucks.
