If Romney does lose, the far-right of the party will blame it on the moderates and claim Romney wasn't "conservative enough." In 2016, they will try to nominate some wacko like Santorum.
In reality, the problem is they are too radical. When you add in your platform that you want to crack down on porn, force women who are raped to have the child, and then totally disenfranchise the Ron Paul wing....your party's foundation starts to erode away and it scares the bejesus out of the independents.
They just spent 4 years trashing Obama and the Democrats about "too much government." Yet they turn around and want the government to legislate your morality. I mean the hypocrisy is laughable.
