(4,395 posts)curry is a very popular dish, especially in hot pot restaurants. I ate it at least on a weekly basis with friends when I lived there. Thinking back more or less any group meal I ate in a restaurant included at least one curry dish (generally curried beef and potatoes or curry hot pot).
It's not as common in Chinese restaurants in America because (obviously) when Americans go to Chinese restaurants they want "Chinese" food - fried rice and sweet and sour pork. But there is a huge diversity of regional cuisines in China which reflect a number of ethnic groups. China borders India and they share some common dishes. We also don't think of KFC as being "Chinese" but that doesn't mean people in China don't consume a lot of fried chicken.
And literally every single dish in China contains ginger. If it had any impact on Covid-19, why were cases spiking there?
There's no evidence that anything other than medical and social interventions (like testing and social distancing) have any impact on the spread of Covid-19 and it's frankly irresponsible at this point to be speculating that there is some magic dietary ingredient that will protect people from getting it or improve their outcomes.
