(38,096 posts)Starting with declaration of emergency within 24 hours of the first case in the state, and orders to shut down higher education the next day, followed rapidly by shutting down elementary and secondary schools, entertainment venues, gatherings of more than 50, restaurants, and a stay at home order.
Let's take political generalizations out of this and focus on pointing out states or leaders who are doing a good job, and holding specific leaders accountable - regardless of party affiliation. There are both Republicans who are leading the way, and Democrats who are lagging. If we fail to do that, we're doing just what the Republicans accuse us of doing: politicizing the pandemic rather than working together to get to the other side of it with as few lives destroyed as possible.
