62. In 1969 I moved to Texas from Kansas

They informed me I was a damned Yankee.
In answer to my question about where the Hell that came from, I got:
Yankees are anyone from the north.
Damned Yankees are anyone from the north who moves to the south
God Damned Yankees are Damned Yankees who stay.

The gulf coast from Freeport to Palacios and inland 40 miles made home look damned good

It is unclear if my return to Kansas after 7 years reset my status to Yankee or I am forevermore a damned Yankee.
