The number of new cases is nearly linear or decreasing (rather than exponential)

Absolute number of new cases since 4/14 - the day the reporting changed (using a rolling 3-day average):

4/14 - 30,720
4/15 - 30,342
4/16 - 29,567
4/17 - 32,165
4/18 - 29,057
4/19 - 25,040
4/20 - 28,927
4/21 - 26,015

(Note that prior to the 14th the number of new cases was lower daily for a couple of days, but increased starting th 14th when the criteria for what constitutes a case changed) and now they are back to trending down. So we appear to be on the back side of the first peak - but it will zip right back up if more states follow Georgia's idiocy.)
