as Majority Leader. I imagine she'll shut his procedural shenanigans down very quickly. He'll be sitting there impotent and fuming, possibly while there are hearings on his dealings with Deripaska and the sweetheart deals his wife has made and will face censure and expulsion.

Most of the Kentuckians I know are sensible people who have thoroughly loathed him for many years. They complain about a certain fatalism there that says as bad as he is, someone else will likely be worse so they go for the devil they know. In addition, there are a lot of people who get suckered by his Senator Cornpone Crackerbarrel act, jes plain folks and he loves y'all.

Defeated or neutered, both are acceptable outcomes.
