It scares the hell out of me to read about other states that are already ready to go back to life as usual - they're in for a terrible backlash in illness and death which puts all the rest of us in danger.

Last I knew my county had 14 coronavirus deaths as of May 1st, 11 of those in nursing homes they said. And it was only late in March that we heard about the first death, it was such big news that it made the headlines of the local paper - an 83-year-old man from up north who had previously exhibited no symptoms - his wife had it too, but she recovered.

And yesterday I caught the local (Albany) news and they reported 2 more coronavirus deaths, both in nursing homes. It sounds like proximity is responsible for the areas with the most fatalities. It's fairly rural around here so we're lucky in that way.
