Most fun car I ever owned was an 82 VW Scirocco. Had the same engine as Some of the shitty Porsche 914s. Weighed like 1600 lbs and had rack and pinion steering. Turned on a dime and caught rubber even going into second gear.

One of my frat brothers who drove a late 70s firebird borrowed it to make a beer run. Came back and said he has never driven a car like that! Even my roommate who had the coolest car of the era, a Datsun Z280 said my car was more fun to drive.

Funny story. Like all VWs of that era it had a shitty electrical system. When a poor new employee dating my current wife 33 years ago I would stay at her condo and overnight the battery would die. I was poor! So I just parked on a very slight incline. Every morning at 4:30 going to work I would turn on the keys, put it in N, and push that SOB from the drivers door. Jump in a pop the clutch and off I went! Looking back it seems crazy. But hell, I was 22.

If I had a dollar for every time I regretted selling it I could retire!

Have a nice evening
