10. I don't actually live on the property

My house is about ten minutes away. It's a very special place. We have other critters out there too. Two dogs live there full time, plus a few of the volunteers bring their dogs (well behaved, of course) out. We also have wonderful barn cats. Last year we took in three completely black kittens (Wednesday, Olive, and Dave) and they are so cute! Good ratters too. In the spring, we have owls nesting in the rafters. To keep the numbers of pigeons and rats low, we don't trap or kill them - we are an animal sanctuary after all - we put out birth control. It's been very effective.
